The most likely cause of the problem is a poor connection on the battery side. Use a voltmeter to check the voltage at the inverter's battery input terminals when you try to use the microwave. If you don't have a voltmeter and the battery is 12 volts, you can also use a common 12 volt lamp in place of the voltmeter. If the lamp dims when you try to run the microwave, you know there is a problem with one of the connections on the battery side. If you have trouble finding the bad connection, run the inverter for a while with whatever load it can handle. The bad connection should get warm. If you don't see a drop in voltage when you apply a load, the problem is probably inside the inverter itself. |
