What happens if you take the DC power supply away from an inverter while the inverter is still running?
I turned my car off while my XPower 400 was still running, charging my iPhone. It made a wheezing sound, and I'm worried it'll explode or something if I use it again.
Homemade wind turbine, 12v to 120v inverter..need help plz ^_^?
ok i plan to make a wind turbine for a off grid hunting cabin so i can have electricity i plan on hooking up the turbine generator to 12v car batteries 2 or 3 or 4...then use a 120v inverter...does this mean i have 120v of power or no? could i power a 110v fridge from this set up? and lastly if i add more batteries 12v...does that increase to 24v 36v etc...? or does it still have a 12v current?thanx in advance for any help...i plan to make something similar to this to give you guys an idea mdpub.com Wind Turbine index.htmlthanx for your response....an alernator from a car will not work as it requires a very high rpm to charge the batteries that a wind turbine is incapable of.... but on the other hand the led lights is a very good idea as they require less energy and have a 10 year lifespan...thanx allot for your help
Is there a12V DC to AC inverter that can power a microwave?
The ones that go in your car. I want it to power a microwave not like a super powerful one but just an older maybe 600 to 800 watt microwave. I have found ac inverters that will power 400 watt continuously and 100 high peak surges... what does this mean? how long will the high peak last?Also can this harm my car, and in which ways? break my cigarette lighter or worse?

I have a 400 Watt Inverter that I plugged a mini fridge into. The fault light flashed, now it won't turn on?
I have a solar panel on my van that charges 2 12v golf cart batteries. I have a 400 watt coleman power inverter. I turned on my inverter, plugged in my mini fridge, and the red fault light came on for about a second, beeped, and then shut off. Now I can't get the inverter to turn back on. Would it have blown a fuse? I checked the 40A fuse in the inverter but it looks good. The inverter is a Coleman Power Mate 400 Watt Inverter 800 Peak Surge , 3.5 Amps, with 110 120V AC Output. The Mini Fridge had a sticker on the back with some specifications including " Source 115V" , 1.2 Amps, and " Frequency 60Hz" . It didn't have Watts anywhere. The inverter should be able to power the fridge, right? Why won't the inverter turn back on? Everything else powered by the solar panel and batteries works, except the inverter.The solar panel is hooked up to the batteries, and the batteries are hooked up to the inverter. The batteries are still fully charged and functioning, the inverter just won't turn on.I haven't tried the fridge yet, but I know it was working properly before I plugged it into the inverter. I unplugged it within a few seconds after the fault light flashed and the inverter shut off.Are you saying that my inverter might be fried and I need to get a new one? Plugging in a fridge wouldn't cause a surge, right? And plus, isn't the inverter designed to withstand surges by shutting off before it gets damaged?
Inverter 12 V 42 AH for home lighting. what appliances on this capacity for 1 hour.?
i purchased an inverter 12V 42 ah with connections for 3 lights. now i want to connect it to the mains which was not done earlier, but 3 separate tubelights were fixed . , so that i can run maybe a single or 2 lights as well as watch the TV or run the fan for an hour. is this possible?
